We all have a role to play to keep Nappanee a beautiful city. Everything from parked vehicles to lawn maintenance has an effect on the look and feel of our city. Here are some reminders about common issues that will help ensure we are all doing our part to be proud to call Nappanee home. Please report any code violation on the form below.

Junk/Abandoned Vehicles - Nappanee City Code Chapter 94.01

  • Inoperable vehicles may not be stored outside
  • Vehicles must be street-operable and properly registered. Tarps may not cover any vehicle.

Recreational Vehicles (boats, trailers, motor homes, etc.) - Nappanee City Code Chapter 73.11

  • RVs shall be parked in either the backyard or the side yard on an improved surface of concrete, gravel, or asphalt.
  • RVs must comply will all setback requirements
  • RVs are not to be occupied as temporary or permanent living quarters

Parking - Nappanee City Code Chapter 73

  • Vehicles/motorcycles may not be parked in any portion of the yard or walkway.
  • Vehicles/motorcycles are prohibited to park on any city street for a continuous period of more than 48 hours. 

Lawn Maintenance - Nappanee City Code Chapter 93.05

  • Grass and weeds may not exceed eight inches in height

Junk, Trash, or Debris - Nappanee City Code Chapter 93.07

  • Trash/recycling containers must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your service day no more than 3 feet from the curb with the handle towards the house
  • Trash/Recycling containers must be stored indoors or beside the residence.
  • All items must be stored in a secure building and out of sight from the public

Animals - Nappanee City Code Chapter 98.16

  • Farm animals, such as; horses, sheep, goats, chickens, geese, and ducks are prohibited within the city boundaries at any time or place.
