The Board of Public Works and Safety meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 3:30 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chambers.

The Board of Public Works and Safety’s major function is ensuring police, fire and EMS protection, street, and municipal water and sewer operations for the City of Nappanee. In addition, the BOW approves and maintains all contractual agreements in which the City enters.

Items of business to be placed on the Board of Works agenda must be in the Clerk-Treasurer’s office by 4:00pm the Monday prior to the Board meeting. 

The following items of business must be approved by majority vote from the Board of Works at a public meeting: 

  • All contractual agreements that bind the city
  • Closing a street for a foot race, parade, block party, etc.
  • Use of city facilities for a meeting or event
