Low Water Pressure

Report low water pressure:

Call the water utility office at 574-773-4623 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday

  • For after hours or weekend emergencies, call 574-773-8400
  • City crews will respond to check your meter and outside faucets within 48-72 hours of submitting your request.
  • You may need to contact a plumber if the crew notifies you that the inside of your home should be checked.

Low water pressure often results from one of the following:

  • The main water valve into your home may not be open completely.
  • Mineral deposits may be clogging water lines in your home.
  • Leaks may be present within your home or on the service line
  • City water system pressure may be low.

City Water Main Break

Report a City water main break:

    Restoring Water Quality

    • Water may be discolored and there may be air in the lines following water line repair or shut off.
    • Running water taps for a few minutes should clear discoloration and air, resulting in water that is safe to drink.
    • Discoloration is due to stirring-up mineral deposits coating water lines, disrupted when the main breaks.
